Equivet X Factor has celebrity judge

The Equivet X Factor Dressage to Music competition will take place this year on Friday 19th November at The Hand Equestrian Centre, Clevedon.

Organisers Helen Griffiths and Celia Gadd will be running their 6th annual charity event and they have raised over £30,000 for a variety of charities including BBC Children In Need, WaterAid, Penny Brohn Cancer Care, Happy Landings Animal Sanctuary and CRY.

This year the money raised will be divided between BBC Children In Need and the Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre. The TRC takes in unwanted ex-racehorses or injured or badly behaved TB horses and nurses them back to health as well as implementing a full re-training and schooling schedule which enables them to find a new, secure and happy home.

Many of the horses go on to compete in various disciplines or just to become well mannered all round riding horses for potential new owners.

The full schedule includes an under 16’s class, Novice and Elementary, TB’s and then the Open which encourages some of our leading riders to come and perform to music in front of a live audience.

The first few in each class will go through to the evening performance where the panel of judges comment, but the final judging is down to the audience in true X Factor style.

Well known celebrity commentator extraordinaire, Clare Balding is hoping to make it onto the celebrity panel this year as the ‘X Factor’ judge.

Last year’s Equivet X Factor champion was Lucinda McAlpine and What A Boy who was a firm favourite with the audience and judges alike.

This really is a night not to miss as the riders use their imagination with wonderful costumes and floor plans and the horses really rise to the occasion giving their all in front of an enthralled audience.
